Beautiful house renovated to last the next 500 years - pure luxury!Free Wifi, Pool, lack of restaurants
This place was one of the best experiences during our 3 weeks tour in Portugal: looks standard from outside but inside it's renovated to perfection. As we were the only ones we could use all the house by ourselves. Pool was still closed due to the poor weather in spring 2016.
Some more things to highlight: free Wifi and the free bar (spirits and wines)
For weak sleepers the churchbells of the nearby church could keep you awake or wake up 6am :-)
Also good to know is that there are no restaurants in the village (only a bar), you need to drive some minutes or cook yourself in the huge kitchen.
with 55€ (can go down to 45€ last minute) great value and absolutely recommend!!

Very helpful staff
My husband and I stayed recently in this B&B we were passing through this lovely rural part of Portugal. We booked quite late on the night of our stay and arrived into the village in the dark - without internet signal we were unable to find the B&B but after ringing and talking to I presume the owner, he very kindly sent the Housekeepers husband to find us which was very kind of him and they made us feel very welcome. We had our pick of the rooms available and chose the room in the front of the house. On arrival we had a tour of the house and it is indeed a charming old house. We slept very well and enjoyed our wake up call in the form of the bells from the old Church right beside the property. Our bed was very comfortable and the room / house was extremely clean. Plenty of hot water after a little wait and breakfast was the usual rolls, cold meat, cheese, croissants but with lovely fresh orange juice and lots of hot coffee and tea. We did spot the pool which is accessed down a few steps from the front door of the property but our itinerary didn't allow for us to use it on this occasion, Would I go back ? YES

Interesting
Not sure how we need up there but it was an interesting experience. We got there around 18:00, there was no sign and the door was locked. We thought we had the wrong place, asked around, drove around and finally the owners showed up and let us in. They let us pick our room as we were the only guess there that night. Zebras is a little agricultural community with the rooster that woke us up and the church that made sure that we wouldn't sleep before 22:00. We were afraid that it would go on like this the hole night but it didn't.
We had dinner in the nearby village before retiring for the night. Breakfast was typical portuguese style.

"quiet" a view of rural Portugal
Newly re-decorated manor house with large rooms (20+ sqm), large bathrooms, old stylish library, cosy living room and an outside 100sqm pool with 180 degree view of the farmlands of the east Estrela (mountains). The house is located in a very small town, on the south-side of a hill with a great view. Only 7 rooms available, and during the pre-holiday season (till end of June) you can be lucky to be the only guest and have all of the house for yourself! We paid 55 Euro incl. a solid breakfast and were allowed to use the outside pool most of the day even after check-out. Restrooms are available at the pool as well.
This is a very nice place for a quiet and relaxing holiday of just a stopover on your trip to the mountains.
Be sure to use find a restaurant before arriving as there is nothing in the town of Zebras. Nearest restaurant is about 8km away.
