Happy family holiday

Had a lovely holiday with grown up family, great if you want to go out in the evening and want peace and quiet at night when you want to sleep , has everything you could want ,a shopping bag and hover and umbrellas would of been perfect, very clean big space

Urbanization not recommended for rent

There are many problems, noises and every week they close the pools due to children's poop. Highly recommended, there are many other housing estates in Benidorm and surrounding areas with better price and facilities. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, THERE ARE ONLY CHILDREN AND OLDER PEOPLE WHO BOTHER THEM EVERYTHING. BETTER TO STAY AT LEVANTE BEACH.

Sunset Waves at Poniente Beachbin Benidorm

The two ‘wave’ style of apartment blocks looked very impressive and trendy. They were easily distinguishable from the other high rise buildings along Poniente Beach due to their unique design.
Our three bedroom apartment was spacious and well-equipped - especially with trendy showers, a huge fridge-freezer and an expensive cooker. The open plan living and dining area was great for family time, The balcony was huge - it had a large dining table on it and a separate area for patio furniture. We were on a high floor and had a great view of the beach.
We spent a lot of time down by the pool and always managed to get sunbeds. The infinity pool was beautiful to look at and very refreshing to take a dip in. The other pool for lane swimming was always busy and heated. We also loved the jacuzzis around the pool too. There were lots of different nationalities around the poolside- including other Brits- and the atmosphere was always pleasant and relaxed. The pool was very busy - even late at night as it stayed open until about 9pm. The pool bar was popular with a good selection of food and drink plus the staff were friendly, The pool bar stayed open until 11:30pm - as long as there was the demand.
During our stay we regularly used the sports facilities - but we did bring our own equipment with us as there was no option to hire. The padel court and tennis court needed to be booked by phone but there was a lot of availability. We also played a lot of table tennis and used the gym each day (which had basic cardio and weights in).
Although we didn’t have young children, the facilities were very good. There was a modern playground and the children’s pool had a slide and sprayers,
The complex was very clean and the grounds were very carefully maintained, The staff were also friendly - even the lifeguards who operated by strict rules!
Sunset Waves is located just a few minutes uphill from Poniente Beach - which we visited every day. The beach was very busy - especially with Spanish people - and we enjoyed the huge waves! The promenade stretch also had a good selection of restaurants, cafes, ice-cream parlours and shops. The old town of Benidorm was a picturesque, twenty minute walk down the promenade - where we had some wonderful meals. The new town of Benidorm was about forty minutes walk away or a short bus ride (Number 2 bus at the back of the hotel for a set fare of one Euro seventy five).
We had a wonderful family holiday away from the bustle of the main part of Benidorm. Sunset Waves was a beautiful, trendy apartment with a gorgeous infinity pool.
However there are points to be aware of at Sunset Waves….
*You have to stop at the booking office about ten minutes drive from the hotel to get your key.
*There isn’t an onsite reception so it was hard to know which building we were in and how to access the building late at night.
* You have to wear a Sunset Waves band at all times and the staff do check on entry to the pool. There is a fifty Euro fine for a lost band. Three out of our six bands snapped during our stay and it was hard to get hold of replacements,
*The main, infinity pool didn’t open until 11am every day,
*The lifeguards were very strict and constantly patrolled the poolside area. We received lots of polite telling offs at the start of our holiday from them and watched lots of others being told off each day too!!!
-You are not allowed any drinks next to the pool at all - you have to purchase your drinks at the poolside bar and drink them in the seated area.
- Long hair has to be tied up in the pool and the lifeguards will give out bands to make you do this,
-Children are not allowed in the jacuzzi areas at all.
-No balls at all in the pool.
-No inflatables in the pool.
-No diving or jumping in.
-No leaning over the infinity wall of the pool.
-No sunbeds on the grass.
- Parasols weren’t allowed up if there was a wind.
*There wasn’t enough sunbeds for the size of the apartments. This is an issue in the busy months from June to August. The complex was noticeably busier at the weekend,
*You need a key not only to get into the apartment blocks but also to get into the hotel grounds. There were six of us for only two keys which was an issue at times. You could buzz through to your room to be let in to the grounds and the apartment blocks though,
*The lifts were very efficient but there were only two lifts. On several occasions the lifts were full or we waited a long time for a lift,
*The onsite manager clearly preferred people who wete residents or owners at the complex. It is not set out as well for people who have rented an apartment for a holiday. There is nowhere at all to leave your cases on your departure day. The onsite manager wanted us off the hotel grounds at 11am - even though we were not being picked up until 6:30pm. He was very unwilling to let us use the pool facilities and we had to battle this,
*Sunset Waves is on a steep hill. My dad had mobility issues and struggled with the short walk uphill.
*We had to stop off at the main office - away from the apartments - on our return to the airport to drop the key and bands off.

Sunset Cliffs

Stayed at Sunset cliffs....beautiful apartment, lots of room..everything you need for self catering stay. Complex is lovely and clean and security on site.
Down sides: There are about 50 sunbeds...which considering there are over 500 apartments (some residential) you can imagine most days all beds gone at the crack of dawn. No drinks allowed around the pool at all...you even get 'told off' if you have a can of pop!! No music allowed around the pool. We were unfortunate enough to have a little yappy dog directly above us!!!!...it was like chinese water torture and literally never shut up...so made sitting on the balcony literally impossible. It's quite hilly in the direct area in and out of apartments, so would not recommend if you have mobility issues. Would I stay here again...unfortunately not....apartment was beautiful...but the 'residence' are rude...assuming they don't like 'holiday makers'....very strict rules on what you can and can't do....which I could understand if you were rowdy....we were just a quiet couple...but makes you very paranoid.

Second rate establishment in lovely Benidorm

Terrible place to stay, came here with family on holiday and one of the worst experiences we have had, place fairly new and inside apartment was nice but the staff were extremely rude, you pick up keys from an office in town then have to make your own way to apartments, they insist that when you use the pool facilities or even just sitting In the grounds that your wear a rubber wristband, which is fine for an adult but if you have a child or a small adult the band is too big and falls off, if you lose it they charge £50 euro to replace. You are not allowed visitors from other hotels to come and visit you, you are not allowed to sit on your balcony after midnight, the place does not cater for any other nationality than Spanish. The on site staff are extremely rude and not helpfull at all. The location is not suitable unless you are fit and able bodied, hilly loads of steps and not good for elderly or disabled, the adult pool was closed for 4 out of 7 days and the kids pool only opens at 11am so if you have kids and are an earlier rises like most families, this place is no good. The complex is mainly owner apartments and is shows with the attitude of some of the owners, tourists are looked upon as 2nd class. I would not recommend this place to anyone as definatley spoiled what we though would be a nice celebration of my mother's 80 years on this Earth.
