Cannot wait to return

A truly wonderful stay. My sister and I shared a canal view room that was lovely, comfortable, and the views were fantastic. Breakfast was very good with plentiful options. We loved the yogurt! The staff were friendly, confident, and simply fun. Sure there are stairs everywhere- it’s Amsterdam! If you want an authentic experience stay here. I’m returning this fall!

Outstanding property and service

Absolutely beautiful property! Centrally located, cozy lounging spaces throughout the hotel including the library, outdoor cafe and various conversation spaces. Service was exceptional, friendly, courteous and thoughtful staff from the moment we arrived.

I Left my Heart in Herengracht: A Magical Stay at The Ambassade

My husband, daughter and I spent a truly magical, wonderful week in Amsterdam at The Ambassade. The central location—along the beautiful Herengracht in a row of converted canal houses—made walking to all the many museums, shops and restaurants very easy and delightful. I requested two rooms close by, which the hotel thoughtfully provided. All the rooms appear to be unique, and both of ours were attractive, comfortable and well-appointed. We were on the top floor, so we got soaring ceilings—with a skylight!—and a rooftop view of the charming homes surrounding us. It was very quiet on our floor, so we slept well in our very cozy beds. Housekeeping was always done efficiently and everything was very impeccably clean. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming, answering any questions and ordering transportation when we needed it. This was my first visit to Amsterdam and I sincerely hope it will not be my last. I would stay again at The Ambassade in a heartbeat and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a first-rate experience.

I visit Amsterdam often and have long wanted to stay at this hotel. Too bad it took me so many years - this place is fantastic. The team are friendly and helpful. My room was ready early. It was a canal view with great windows. The brasserie has great food that you can have as room service. Good AC for hot summer nights. Unique styling and design. I loved my experience here and look forward to a return visit.

Truly wonderful!

This is a truly wonderful hotel! My husband and I get limited time off together, so we were celebrating our anniversary and his upcoming birthday. Upon arrival, a young lady from the desk came out immediately to help bring our bags down the one step to enter. Upon entry we were greeted warmly by Astrid. It was a humid day and the cold water at the desk was welcome amenity. We toured the library and reception area while we waited to go up to our room. William took our bags up while we waited comfortably in the reception area and Astrid explained all the opportunities available to us through the hotel. Once our room was ready, William escorted us to our room where we were welcomed by a treat from the front desk staff. William spent time talking with us and answering all our questions. It made our arrival truly special! The room was appointed beautifully and had a wonderful view of the canal. Each day whenever returning from sightseeing, whoever was working the desk, greeted us warmly. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel daily where the food choices were great and reasonably priced.
The total experience was truly wonderful! This hotel and staff are fabulous and we would absolutely love to visit again.
